The days of Russian language and culture that will take place in Merano from 11th to 14th November 2014 under the name of the “Petersburg meetings in Merano” are aimed at the development and strengthening of cultural and educational contacts between Saint-Petersburg and South Tyrol (Italy).
The Committee on external relations of Saint-Petersburg, the Inter-regional Foundation “Centre of National Glory”, The Foundation of St. Andrew the First-Called, the Russian Centre named after N.I.Borodina in Merano and the CEF “Severnaya Palmira” became the main organizers of the “Petersburg meetings in Merano”.
For four days the Merano Cultural Centre and the Conference Hall of “City Hotel” will host teachers of Russian language for lectures and seminars on “Russian as a foreign language” (involving the Institute of Russian language and culture of the Saint Petersburg State University and the International Association of Teachers of Russian and Literature).
Workshops on animated cartoons “Film studio in a pocket” will open doors for gymnasium students of Bruneck and Bolzano and the school of tourism FOS.
At the “Russian culture for children” workshop a person will be able to learn in practice the peculiarities of the traditional decorative and applied art.
The participants of the educational programmes will be given certificates.
The debates of young people about “Intercultural exchange in the modern world” and the workshop on “International tourism as an instrument for intercultural exchange” will be held as part of the meetings.
The programme of the “Petersburg meetings” is created for those who are interested in the Russian culture: students, pupils, teachers of Russian language and compatriots.
President of the Saint-Petersburg University professor Lyudmila Alekseyevna Verbitskaya, Head of Department of development and realization of innovative projects of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre Vyacheslav Ivanovich Lupachev, Director of the Turner Scientific and Research Institute for Children’s Orthopedics professor Aleksey Georgiyevich Baindurashvili will visit the events on the delegation from Saint-Petersburg.
To coincide with the opening of the “Petersburg meetings in Merano” it is planned to open the photo exhibition “Saint-Petersburg” by authors Sergey Bogomyako and Dmitry Fufayev on 11th November 2014 at 18.00 at the Merano Cultural Centre where guests will be able to see the unique world of the Northern Capital of Russia: from big architectural forms, sculpture and panoramas to the smallest details, subtle nuances and peculiar examples of “mood” of the city.
At the same day at 19.00 the press conference will be held at the Merano Theatre and the Opening Ceremony and the concert of performance groups from Saint-Petersburg and South Tyrol will take place at 20.00.
