From the 10 to the 13 of September, in the historical center of the Italian city of lovers – Verona – the 11th “Family Happening” Festival was held.
On the famous Piazza dеi Signori, Italian pro-family organizations shared the experience of their work and presented a celebration to everyone who shares the motto of the festival: “A perfect day filled with love and care”. By invitation of the festival’s organizers, the N. I. Borodina Russian Center presented the All-Russian program “Holiness of Motherhood” from the St. Andrew Foundation and Center of National Glory.
More than 35 public organizations, cultural associations, educational institutions, endowment funds, and volunteer groups took part in the event organized by the Verona Department of Social Welfare and Equal Rights in cooperation with the Italian Family Confederation of AFI. The bright and intense program of three days was rich with events, such as: photo exhibitions, creative laboratories, lectures, discussions, concerts, fun and games, a family marathon, and much more. The opportunity for an exchange of views, ideas, discussion of joint projects, and attraction of attention to basic family values and educational tasks of the younger generation on a responsible attitude towards families – precisely these main parts of the “Family Happening” Festival in Verona share a commonality with the all-Russian forums of the “Holiness of Motherhood” program.
The teachers, journalists, and social workers that were interested by the Russian stand that was set up on Dante Square, expressed support for the family policy in Russia, which is aimed at the preservation of traditional family values.
“Our organizations have similar goals and tasks, and we must therefore combine our efforts for the strengthening of the family institution as a fundamental universal value.” — Antonio Tserman, President of the regional office of the Italian Family Confederation. In his opinion, joint holding of photo exhibitions, international conferences, and expert round tables could become one of the areas of cooperation of the Russian “Holiness of Motherhood” program. The organizers of the festival hope that next year’s Russian participation in the festival will be larger and therefore are ready to invite creative family groups.
