On May 29 the ceremony was held on Mont Espin height, department of Aisne, to unveil the monument dedicated to soldiers of the 3d brigade of the Russian Expeditionary Force who were killed in battle in France.
Vladimir Bushuyev, Director of the Foundation of Saint Andrew the First-Called, took part in the ceremony. Other participants of the ceremony included Alexander Barkov, Director of the Department of Administration of Cultural Affairs of the RF, Alexey Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to France, descendants of the soldiers and officers of the Russian Expeditionary Force, French and Russian politicians, representatives of non-governmental institutions of both countries.
Alexey Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to France, thanked the Foundation for support. He emphasized that Director of the Foundation Vladimir Bushuyev took part in the ceremony.
The monument was created in Tambov. It was made of the Ural stone and delivered to France. The monument has been erected by the Russian Military Historical Society; Konstantin Fomin is the architect.
