The International Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War will take place in Belgrade on September 17-18

The International Science and Public Conference “The Great War and the Beginning of a New World: An Up-to-Date Agenda for the Humankind” will be held on the September 17-18, 2014, in the Conference hall of Sava Centar in Belgrade (Serbia).

The Conference coincides the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War and poses the wide international dialogue between the science and the society on the most urgent aspects of history of the First World War and their influence on the contemporary condition of the international relations system. The Conference aims to analyze the events of the time in the perspective of the historical process in the world. The relevance of the topic is seen in the context of the current challenges and threats similar to those that manifested themselves in 1914. It is suggested to consider the Great War history in view of geopolitics and civilizations, value analysis and world systems, as well as in project dimension.

The main Conference organizers are Russian public organizations such as Apostle Andrew the First Called International Public Foundation and Russian National Glory Center as well as Serbian public organization  “Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals”.

The leading Russian, Serbian, European and global historians, public and governmental figures, scientists and cultural figures, priesthood, media personnel will take part in the Conference.

The International Conference starts at 10:00 a.m., September 17, 2014.

The Conference is organized in the format of the Plenary session topically divided into 4 discussion panels:

Discussion Panel 1: “Global Wars and Historical Transformations of the World”

Discussion Panel 2: “The First World War: Why and What for?”

Discussion Panel 3: “The First World War in the Context of World Outlook and Value Analysis”

Discussion Panel 4: “The First World War as History’s Admonition for Humankind”

The languages of the conference: Serbian, Russian, English.

The conference finishes on September 18, in Sava Centar (Conference hall), where the Final Plenary session will take place.

The Final Plenary session starts at 10:00.

After the Final Plenary session the press conference with the members of the Organizing Committee will be organized in the lobby of the Sava Centar Conference hall. It starts at 11.30.

  1. Surname and name (in Latin transcription);
  2. The number of your ID and its expire date;
  3. The number of the journalist ID.
