Endowment for St Andrew Foundation Became a Participant in the Third Meeting of “Matryoshka – Dialogue”
Флаги

The St. Andrew Endowment-Foundation took part in a public lecture as part of “Matryoshka Dialogue – revelation of the essence of things”, which took place on the 28th of May at the Lawyer’s House in St. Petersburg.
“Matryoshka Dialogue – revelation of the essence of things” is a project from the Swiss-Russian Forum as part of the implementation of the “Society and Policy” program timed for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Congress of Vienna. At the events of the project, topical issues were discussed in a Swiss-Russian context, at which one will be able to look at from another perspective.
In addressing the participants of the lecture with welcoming remarks, the executive president of the Swiss-Russian Forum, Beatrice Lombard-Martin noted that Switzerland, being a small country with an insignificant amount of resources, holds one of the largest economies in the world thanks to a high level of education and developed manufacturing. Share of small and medium-sized business on the Swiss market is at 98%. The modern political setting directly affects the economic relations of Russia and Switzerland. In the opinion of Ms. Lombard-Martin, application of economic sanctions is not a productive way to resolve international problems. Conflicts that arise between countries can be removed only as a result of constructive dialogue for which such an organization as the Swiss-Russian Forum can serve as a platform.
Moderator of the lecture, as well as participant in the discussion was Wolfgang Koydl, journalist, editor of the Swiss journal “Weltwoche”, and author of many books including “Die Besserkönner” in which he shares the Swiss recipe for success. In the recent past, Mr. Koydl interviewed Konstantin Malofeev, after which he had an idea about inviting Konstantin Valerievich to speak as a rapporteur in the “Matryoshka Dialogue” project.
Konstantin Malofeev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Tsargrad” group, in his own speech, highlighted the topic of values of the West and Russia. In this regard, the rapporteur chose, as a specific example, the phenomenon of colonialism and the associated transfer of one’s own cultural, political, social and economic values to the entire world.
In the opinion of Mr. Malofeev, the events of 2014, in particular, the accession of the Crimea, speak about the fact that Russia made a choice in favor of its own interests. This became apparent to our international partners as well, hence such a tough position from the United States. America has been the hegemon of today’s world for already a quarter of the century. To challenge them in this regard, which the leadership of Russia has made up its mind on, is a very important step for the Russian people. Mr. Malofeev noted that the history of Russia has shown that the people could effectively develop themselves only in a state of achievement.
