The Foundation of St. Andrew the First-Called was established in 1992. The mission of the programmes and projects of the Fund is to preserve the Christian Orthodox faith and loyalty to the Blessing given to our world by St. Andrew the First-Called.
Key activities of the Foundation include missionary activities, publishing, organizing events and use of modern technologies. For the 20 years of its existence the Foundation became the initiator and the organizer of a number of major religious and public programmes in which millions of people took part: religious processions, restoration of churches, monasteries and nunneries in different regions of Russia (the St. Martha and Mary Convent of Mercy, the St. Panteleimon Monastery on the Holy Mt. Athos, others), delivery to Russia of the holy Orthodox relics (the St Andrew the First-Called Cross, the Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy relics of St. Andrew the First-Called and St. Luke, the hand of John the Forerunner, relics of Elizaveta Fedorovna and nun Barbara, delivery to the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem under the programme “Pray for Peace for Jerusalem” and its distribution among eparchies; and many others.
